COMMUNITY ADVOCATES FOR CLEAN ENERGY

of Greater Philadelphia

Working to help individuals, local governments and schools in our transition to towards clean energy.

Our Mission

With a lack of Climate Leadership from the federal government CACE is helping to empower local institutions (schools and local governments) and residents to take positive Climate Action. Making sure to include communities that may be impacted by this transition in our conversations.

Green Schools Campaign

The Green Schools Campaign is developing the leadership and grassroots organizing of young people to spearhead initiatives to transition their schools and communities to 100% clean energy. We’re bringing together students, parents, teachers, and community members to tell decision makers that fossil fuels have no place in our schools. All students deserve a safe, healthy, and climate-resilient environment to learn in — and we have the solutions at hand to build it.

Grant Programs

There are many grant programs coming from the IRA/BIL federal acts. Some are available to apply for directly via a US agency (EPA, DOE, USDA, etc). Some require that the state apply for funding and then the state manages the distribution of funds. We are keeping our eye on as many of these programs as we can.

The Future of Federal Funding for Clean Energy

Feb 24 2025 - Gov Shapiro announces federal funding for PA has been unfrozen. PA programs like Home Energy Rebates (HER) and Solar for All and Solar for All still seem to be "in development". But things are far from certain. See Climate Backtracker from Columbia Univ Law School.

We have added info about PA programs and other resources to the Local Governments Stakeholder page that seem to be solid alternatives.
